Limited by the cost, RC frame was chosen by architect as skeleton. Also the building features a sightly tilted irregular shaped envelope facing the sky to balance the sense of openness and privacy. With those two considerations, the building exterior was designed using wire-meshed mortar, which requires no scaffolding and can be built with hand-building technique. This method also helps to reduce the thickness of the plate elements while avoiding the punching shear failure and unsymmetric seismic response of the building caused by stiffness concentration.
