Located at the place where Chuanyanghe River joins the Huangpu River, the pedestrian bridge is designed for people jogging, walking and cycling. Per design proposal, it has to be a single-span bridge with 165 meters in length and 10m in width, while providing sufficient bridge clearance. Also as wished by owner, It should be a modest looking while unconventional one and was given one year from design to construction completion. Such constraints pushed us for an innovative structural solution, leading to the application of a truss-beam structure with stayed-cable anchoring to the ground at ends.
