The Swan Science Museum locates on the bank of Swan Lake in Rongcheng, Shandong. Due to the unique coastal landform and superior natural environment, Swan Lake is the largest Swan habitat during winter in Asia. The architect carefully arranged the museum building behind the existing black pine forest, even considering that the building would offer a walking path to wandering swans. Therefore, the building is "lifted" - structural designer proposed a form of multi-slender steel columns in the first floor space, which unprecedentedly strengthened the sense of suspension of this building, forming a gradual relationship of structures from the concrete at the bottom, multi-slender steel columns as a cluster of reeds in the middle, to the wood structure at the top.
